What makes an entrepreneur?
Today is International Women’s Day. I won’t go into the reasons why we need an international women‘s day, but I hope it won’t be necessary in years to come. Let’s promote equality for everyone; we need to give support and get support from our men too. I’m all for everyone being the best they can be, and getting what they want from their life!
It also got me thinking about what defines an entrepreneur. These past couple of weeks I’ve had the pleasure of meeting lots of entrepreneurs, of all shapes and sizes and from all walks of life. What sets those people apart is that they wanted a change and they just went for it. Some grew bored or disillusioned with corporate life, decided to put themselves first for a change. Others fell into entrepreneurship when they realised they had a special talent. Some have been in business for decades, others are just starting out.
As for me, if you had told me 5 years ago that I would be setting up my own business I would have laughed in your face! Me? An entrepreneur? Never! But how times have changed… I got to a stage in my career and started thinking there must be more to life. I wanted to put my skills to better use and help individuals and small businesses rather than large global corporations. I want to empower people to have a more fulfilling life by getting clear on what they really want and help them rediscover their courage and go for it.
