Who we are

I am Aoife O’Brien of Empowerment Coaching, a certified Executive and Life Coach based in Dublin and working with clients all over the world. I help people to be happier at work and in life. I can be reached at aoife@empowermentcoaching.ie.

This policy sets out the commitment to the safety and proper use of the data entrusted to us, according to Data Protection law and regulations. This includes the Data Protection Act from 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation effective from May 2018.

We request, retrieve and process only the data needed to carry out its core functions, such as delivering workshops, communicating with interested parties or performing coaching and consulting sessions.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

If you fill out the contact form, we will receive your name and email address any other comments you choose to add. This arrives as an email to the inbox aoife@empowermentcoaching.ie

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

We use reports provided by Google Analytics to help us understand website traffic and webpage usage.

Data related to client’s identification and performance throughout the coaching and consulting process, as well as data required for administrative processes. This data is anonymised as far as is possible.

Any other data provided voluntarily by individuals.

We may contact individuals who have expressed interest in our services and have voluntarily given contact details, with information on our services.

Individuals can opt out at any time or withdraw consent.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments are checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect your data

Physical data is kept under secured and locked location in site and cannot be taken out of the premises unless it is absolutely necessary.

Digital data access is password protected.

We do not actively share data with third or external parties.

Procedures for appropriate discarding of physical and digital data are also in place.
